The Camelback Mountain is a hiker’s paradise. The hiking trails beckons thousands of hikers every year. The highest summit is 2,074 feet above sea level. There are two trails to the summit, which are tricky and difficult and not feasible for beginners. The head of the Camelback Mountain comprises of layered sand stone and the area of Echo Canyon Recreation is located here. The tell tale hump is of granite. The mountains are home to thousands of small animals like rabbits, snakes, lizards and squirrels. The flora and fauna consists of thorny desert variety like the saguaro, barrel, hedgehog etc. The trails are open from sunrise to sunset.
